Turkey Trot

Happy Thanksgiving from Miles For A Cure

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.  We had our first Thanksgiving in Florida.  To start out the day we joined 5,500 others to run and walk the Turkey Trot.  I hope for this to be a new family tradition.

It was so great to see so many families and friends out to start the day of feasting with a fun run.  This was our first time to run a race as a family and for me it was a dream come true to see my family running with me.

The kids enjoyed seeing all the costumes.  One couple was dressed as a fork and spoon, another as an Indian and Pilgrim and there was a family with what looked like cooked turkeys on there heads.  Best of all it was great to see so many of my Team in Training participants and past participants out running.

The race took place in downtown Orlando starting and finishing at beautiful Lake Eola.  It was absolutely a gorgeous morning to run around the downtown neighborhoods.  This race was so family and beginner friendly.  There was even a grandpa walking his infant grandchild in his arms throughout the race.  I highly encourage you to add this to your list of family traditions.

The five of us crossing the finish line.

After the race and we are all still smiling.

Happy Thanksgiving
